Baylor guard LJ Cryer announced on Wednesday he is entering the NBA draft but will not hire an agent. By doing so, Cryer will be able to go through the entire NBA draft process to get feedback where his game is and if it is ready for the professional level.

If the feedback is not favorable, Cryer retains his amateur status and can return to Baylor for the 2023-24 season. Cryer, who scored a NCAA tournament program-record 30 points in the Round of 32 loss to Creighton (85-76), was one of three players to average 15 points or better. He averaged 15.0 but was the best 3-point shooter on the team at 41.5 percent. He is considered the most pure shooter on the team and was 45 percent overall and 89 percent at the foul line.

Cryer missed most of the 2021-22 season because of a foot issue that required off-season surgery. When he was cleared in the summer, his presence helped Baylor maintain prolific guard play. He posted double figure scoring numbers in nine of his last 10 games.

Should he return, Cryer must remove his name by consideration by 11:59 EDT May 31.

Guard Adam Flagler, who is considering, has until April 23 to make his decision known.

Teammate Keyonte George announced Tuesday he was entering the NBA draft and won't return.
