Just some things I picked up:
>Although Baylor is pushing for Arkansas QB Malik Hornsby - he’s scheduled to announce on Jan. 8 from his IG account - the current thinking is that UNLV leads because Bobby Petrino is the new OC there.
>Baylor made a late hard run at Texas QB Hudson Card. However, it was a timing thing where Purdue was ahead.
>I know Baylor and Ole Miss QB Luke Altmyer have been in contact. At one point things looked promising. But Illinois seems to be getting into this and could be the favorite.
>Haven’t heard too much on Baylor and Virginia QB Brennan Armstrong. Could still be an option.
>One name that could surface is Vanderbilt’s Mike Wright. Hasn’t announced he’s in the portal yet but could. A dual-threat QB.
>But keep in mind Baylor’s market is subject to NIL commitment along with telling candidates they can compete for the starting job. If they get any vibe that it’s ride or die with Blake Shapen, this pursuit becomes tougher.
