There's probably a player or two or injury or two that I'm overlooking. However, I had a chance to break down Baylor's injury bug throughout all of 2017 and detail it in the number of games lost by both starters and reserves.
With season ending injuries, you can already include the rest of the season from the time these players went down. By my calculations, Baylor players have combined to miss 65 games. I am also including suspensions because that is time missed. I'm not including the Jourdan Blake and Ish Wilson dismissals. They're gone.
Obviously, I'm not including the game where the players got hurt. When your depth is taxed like this team's has been, there are consequences that eventually catch up to you. It also tells part of the story of why the 0-7 record is 0-7.
No question, the headline is cheesy. But if there's ever a chance to work in Julio Iglesias into SicEmSports, we're going to find a way to do it.

DB Grayland Arnold (broken arm) - injured in fall camp; missed 3 games; returned for Oklahoma
TE Jordan Feuerbacher (broken hand) -- injured vs. Liberty, missed 2 games; returned for Oklahoma
P Drew Galitz (knee) -- injured vs Kansas State, missed 7 games; out for the season
RB JaMycal Hasty (knee) -- injured vs. Liberty, missed 4 games; returned for Oklahoma State
LB Clay Johnston (broken thumb) -- injured in practice for bye week; missed 0 games
RB John Lovett (toe) -- injured vs. Oklahoma State, missed 0 games
TE Rob Saulin (shoulder) -- injured vs. Kansas State, missed 7 games; out for the season
S Taion Sells (suspension) -- missed 3 games, returned for Oklahoma
DE K.J. Smith (shin splint/stress fracture) -- injured vs. Liberty, missed 6 games; return unknown
QB Anu Solomon (concussion) -- injured vs. Liberty, missed 5 games; return unknown
WR Pooh Stricklin (sprained foot) -- injured vs. Oklahoma State, missed 0 games
WR Chris Platt (knee) -- injured vs. Oklahoma, missed 8 games; out for the season
WR R.J. Sneed (broken leg) -- injured vs. West Virginia; missed 5 games; out for the season
DT Xavier Jones (broken leg) -- injured vs. Oklahoma, missed 8 games; out for the season
RB Terence Williams (shoulder) -- injured in spring ball, missed 3 games; returned for Oklahoma
S Davion Hall (back) -- injured in fall camp; missed 1 game, returned for UTSA
TE Ish Wainright (illness) -- suffered it following UTSA, missed one game; returned for Oklahoma
DB Jordan Tolbert (undisclosed) has been in and out of lineup; missed approximately 2 games

Assessment: You can call this program snake bitten, unfortunate or whatever. It is a violent game. People get hurt. In previous seasons, Baylor has gone through some pretty tough injuries. That's 18 players who have missed time for whatever reason. However, I can't recall a season that has been as devastating as 2017 has been. Perhaps that could be a byproduct of who was disclosing what. We can all agree that Matt Rhule has been more transparent than Art Briles was.

When they say you have to adjust to your personnel, that's true. In it's seventh game, Baylor's running game finally has the look it wants between Hasty, Lovett and Williams. Those three have played the last two games together. However, West Virginia was really the first one where they all were closer to 100 percent. Now, we'll see how looks moving forward starting with Texas.

Baylor's defensive line was considered a strength coming into the season. However, the loss of its leader in Smith changed the complexion of that front. One guy can set the tone.

The wide receiver corps has probably been impacted the hardest with the loss of Platt and now Sneed. Baylor was already thin at that position with unproven names. Platt and Mims were looking to be a interesting 1-2 combo. Not anymore.

Football coaches like to say, "Next man up" when it comes to someone going down to injury. That phrase is usually reserved for one or two key players going down. That's probably not going to apply to 18.
