So much has happened over the last 2 months that it is hard to know where to start. Do we have an institutional control issue? Is this just an unrelated, over blown series of unfortunate events? Are we just undisciplined as a team? Did we begin to believe our own press?
When Briles has to step in and take responsibility it says something to me. When changes are made to practice environment that is a big deal to me as it has defined Baylor for such a long time. When coaches are making poor decisions who have been working for years with Briles, that is unhealthy.
Briles has always kept a very tight lid on his program. We seldom know about injuries that occur or other things going on until much later. This isn't a conspiracy theory post, but there is an issue(s) with this team or program. Maybe it is easily fixable, but our university needs to get past this hump in a hurry. We need a strong leader to fix whatever it is that is wrong and I hope Briles is taking those steps now. I think it will be interesting to see how the team responds on Saturday against Rice.
