Ewers was named starting qb when Card was generally thought to be the choice. It's interesting to me the way the message was conveyed. The SID delivered the message from Sark that Ewers was the choice. This was at a press conference where three UT players were being interviewed. Brian Davis is the one who reported it. This is odd to me because the HC typically makes the announcement himself. which leads me to speculate. and that's all it is on my part, but if someone overruled me on a decision like that, I would be pissed. My speculation is that Sark may have decided that Card won the job but boosters thought otherwise and couldn't accept the fact that a super highly rated player like Ewers would start out as a backup. If I were pissed, I might relay the message the way Sark did if he disagreed with the decision.
