Is this a controversial topic? You bet it is.

Is it a healthy debate? Sure, why not.

You have RG3 -- puts Baylor back on the map, records first win over Oklahoma in school history, collects the first Heisman Trophy in school history, Baylor wins its first bowl game in two decades along with its first 10-win season, 2011 AP College Football POY, consensus All-American, Davey O'Brien and Manning Award winner.

You have Bryce Petty -- 21-4 as a starter (missed the NW St game in 2014), leads Baylor to consecutive Big 12 championships (first titles as a Big 12 school), beats Oklahoma twice and the first win ever in Norman, beats Texas twice, Big 12 2013 Offensive Player of the Year, 2015 Cotton Bowl Offensive Player of the Game.

No doubt, it's a tough choice. RG3 is the player who transformed this program and put it on a national platform. You could also say that Bryce Petty doesn't have his career without RG3 paving the way. But if you're asking me to choose, I think I'm going to lean toward Petty only because it comes down to championships.

RG3 will always be the favorite son, but when you cut through it and we're judging by titles, I have to go with Petty.

Heck Peyton Manning gets ton of media love but he's only had one Super Bowl title. Tom Brady just won his fourth.

Throwing it out there.
