I like him as a coach and, what little I know of him, as a man. He changed his philosophy to develop talent from recruiting talent several years ago. Gathers was committed at one time to St. Johns. Prince was offered by Colorado State, Iona and LIU Brooklyn. Al Freeman had big time offers from Duke, Kansas, Ohio State, UCLA and others. JMot with offers from Houston, Clemson, UTEP, SMU and Richmond. Wainright was also a big time recruit. Sprinkle in some JUCOs and we have a good team.
I watched today and all of these kids are improving. All of these kids play hard. All of the are staying in school longer. I like how he has switched gears whether it was by design or not.
Drew has been criticized by a lot of Baylor people, but I think he is our most under appreciated coach. Let's get him a new or updated stadium and then maybe we can bring in some fans to support his teams.
