Baylor head coach Scott Drew met with the media via Zoom on Tuesday to discuss the departure of Jerome Tang to Kansas State. If we get a transcript, we'll pass along. Here are couple of the highlights.
>Drew said there is a succession plan in place. It probably will take a couple of weeks for everything to become settled. Then a formal announcement will come.
>No current assistants are expected to join Tang in Manhattan, KS. But as we mentioned Monday Director of Ops Aditya Malholtra is expected to join Tang.
>Drew also said that once all of the positions are filled, the assignments won't necessarily be done in the order of someone doing exactly what Tang did. Things could change. If Drew decides to name a new associate head coach, you can safely presume Alvin Brooks III and John Jakus will be considered.
>Speaking of Brooks, I have been told that for now he is not in the market to look for a head coaching job even though his name has been connected to the openings at New Mexico State and Louisiana Tech. That could change.
>When Drew found out that Tang was taking the Kansas State job, he said there was peace, joy and excitement. It was the right fit for him.
