Billings. Have to have Billings.

So....let's assume (not trying to jinx anything) that we DO have Billings...because if we don't...I'm not sure we have a 300 pounder on the defensive side...

RE: Brian Nance (RS Jr)
-Is this the year it all clicks? I think it does. He showed flashes this season and should progress into a solid player. His pass rushing improved throughout this season and he seemed to be more physical at the point of attack as his reps increased. Highly touted. Late arrival. It's time to go.
Jamie Jacobs (RS Soph)
-I think this guy is going to be a really good player for Baylor when it's all said and done. Huge spring and he has to prove that he can provide QUALITY depth and he can be a component of the front this next season. Strong. Fast. Athletic. Winner. High expectations for this one.
Tyrone Hunt (RS Fr)
-Grown. Ass. Man. There's a reason he was in uniform against SMU. Going to be really interesting to see where he fits in. Is it at End? Or is it at the 3 tech? Late signee. Country strong. Really intriguing player. Excited to see it play out.
Brandon Bowen (True FR)
-By all accounts, he's a freak. Is he this far down on the depth chart? Right now?...yes. August...maybe not...? The development of the players in front of him will dictate whether or not he shirts. Unless he's freakier than the rest. Would love to RS him if we can and have him be a about a 255-260 lb RS FR, but we'll see. Great sign.

NT: ANDREW BILLINGS (SR)
- No comment. Got to have him. He's the key to the entire defense. If you think that's hyperbole, you're wrong.
Andrew Morris (RS Soph)
- He seems to be the only pup that the players 'semi' trusted throughout this season. Undersized. But strong. Maybe he can be the guy? We shall see.
Bravvion Roy (True FR)
-He'd be our 'big boy' if Billings leaves. Is he ready to go? He probably could be. He's definitely the most ready true freshman since Billings (probably even more so than Bonds) and he could challenge the players in front of him. I think he's a Nose, but the player have to know/be able to handle both inside rolls. Unless he his head and shoulders above the 3rd year sophomores, his RS status rests on Billings' shoulders. The coaches have told him to be ready....

DT: Byron Bonds (Sr)
-Feels like yesterday we were watching Baylor game in the middle of the season wondering, who is this guy? Tongue in cheek...we knew who he was coming out, but I don't think many expected the undersized player to make an impact that early. Battled injuries this past year, but he should be the guy to replace Beau. Would really love having to Seniors in the middle, with two 4th year juniors on the edge. Solid player, and his confidence seems to be growing.
Jeremy Faulk (Jr)
-Highly sought after JUCO player. Pretty decorated. The expectations are high for him as he comes in. Maybe he's here, maybe's he's at Nose, maybe he's here and Bonds is at Nose...? Interested to see him this spring.
Ira Lewis (RS Soph)
-Really strong high school player. Having to transition to the inside at this level. Very few reps this year. Important spring for him as his career begins to unfold. Strong potential.
Josh Malin (RS Soph)
-Don't think he played one snap. He could have been injured, I have no clue. I would imagine he's moved inside but I don't know. This guy is a unicorn. For all we know, he's moving to OL like they did with Thrift. My guess is that he's here...if he's here at all...Big player. From solid program. Very very intriguing player. Will be interested to see where he fits in.

LE: K.J. Smith (RS Jr)
-We all know he can play inside as well. Maybe that's his home...but I doubt it. He can set an edge. He's as strong as an ox. He's a 4th year junior and has played a lot. Remember, he dressed in the beginning as a true freshman because he was THAT impressive. This is his year to make his presence known. I think he can do it. He's experienced and good enough to make those strides.
Xavier Jones (RS Soph)
-Very interesting player. Kind of felt like he ended up at Baylor because he played for Shawn Bell and there was that connection but watching him run down on kickoff in the beginning of the year was pretty impressive. Really fast. And my Lord was he physical when he was taking on blockers. Then he disappeared. Or I quite paying attention...But it'll be a very interesting spring with these younger defensive ends. He's one that could make a climb.
Greg Roberts (RS Soph)
-Original plan was to take the Tevin Reese route. But he made it to campus. don't think he played a snap this year. He's tall and rangy though. Taller than Drango. Does he develop here or do they move him to TE...? Bennett likes his first step, but we shall see. Would be nice if he finds a home and turns it on. He's a big, big kid.
Michael Johnson (True FR)
-Where does he fit? By all account he has 'freakish' attributes/athleticism, but does he have an early impact? Apparently, he is really fast. Like...challenging the WR's to races type fast. He's got my attention. Excited to see where it fits. The coaches have told him to come in ready.

We have some numbers. But we don't really know what kind of players we have, yet...The coaches do, I'm sure. But we don't. Looking at the inside positions...it's pretty clear...must. keep. Billings.
