I'm on the phone with him right now but could not wait to post it. We just got a commitment from a kid that had many other offers (and OU and Nebraska were two of them). I'll have the story up in 30 minutes or so. I'm smilin while I'm typing. LOL!!!!

He's a great kid too. We'll have more information on him in the coming weeks along with his film.

Re: Huge Commitment 6/21...

Oh man, I'm excited now. If those are his offers, it has to be someone other than Shon Brown.

Yeah baby!

Re: Huge Commitment 6/21...

Ok great, now I won't be able to work until I find out who it is. Thanks for ruining my day Sean. Give me the goods!

Re: Huge Commitment 6/21...

DirtySouth, at least you find ways to work during most days. I just surf the net and wait for recruiting news.

Re: Huge Commitment 6/21...

You will not be disappointed this guy is for real

Boo-yah!

Great talent. This kid was one of the standouts on Cinco Ranch's state championship team and might be able to run track for us as well.

This is the kind of pick-up that definitely impacts the win/loss columns.

This one excites me.

Someone (turk4037) has already posted something about the new commitment. Unless this kind of thing stops...I am not going to pay $120/year to be a member of this site. That's rediculous.

This is great news! I remember reading about how much he liked UT. I had no idea he was looking at us!

Dude, save your complaint for another thread or send an e-mail to Adams.

Don't crap all over this thread with your tight-fisted, petty complaining.

This calls for a celebration. Not some whiny bitching that has nothing to do with this great pick-up!

I'm showing my ignorance here but will this kid play for us this fall or next year? Also, has he signed a LOI? I just want to know how 'official' it is. This is fantastic news.

TheNewBear

I'm not mad at what turk did, that might bring people over here. But for that NewBear jerk to go over there and give the name, that's not helping this site and it cheapens what we all pay including his $10 bucks. Adams, you should ban him for that. That is not cool.

He is a 2005 commitment so he will sign in February. He will be playing for Katy Cinco Ranch this fall.

Besides that, hell yeah. So Sean or Jason, this kid, with that many offers, could be a four star or at least a high three star right. That is huge!

I am very impressed that we rec a commit from a very highly reguarded recruit so freakin early! Usually these guys will wait until the last second in January after an official visit. This is a very exciting recruiting season so far. I hope this guy is hard core!

Also do we know which coach was responsible for landing this young man?

Great pickup. I am VERY excited about the progress of our offense.

BTW, I am very excited about having a commitment from a standout RB, but haven't we already gotten a commitment from someone rated higher than #90 in Texas. People are saying this could be the highest ranked player Morriss has recruited, but that wouldn't be true if he's #90.

With those offers, he won't be at 90 for long. That group of offers probably warrents Top 30.

That ranking was based on the May list. I'm sure we'll see a significant jump. We are on a great track with this recruiting class

Great commitment. You guys must have pretty solid connects because I've never heard of this guy. I'm out of touch in Chicago but glad I have this site to keep me up to speed.

He ran a terrible 40 at Baton Rouge but discard that. This guy has been one of the best track athletes in the Greater Houston area since at least his sophomore season.

I'm no expert, but I've seen Queito play five or six times and he sure looks like the real deal to me. He had a fumble problem in one of the games, but in every game, he was the kid that everyone in the stands was talking about. He may have to redshirt in his first year to put on some weight, but if he's in good in college as he has been in high school, we've got a guy who will have a shot at 100 yards in every game and 1,000 yards every year.

Way to go coaching staff!! I couldn't be more excited about this commitment. Nice work!

ps- just wondering...i'm sure something was wrong, but what happened to his 40 and his shuttle at the Baton Rouge Nike camp. A 4.71 40-yd dash and a 4.53 shuttle are terrible. I've heard this kid is a speedster and I know he's legit, but what in the world happened. There where several lineman that posted faster times.

Any validity to this:

"The Bears are likely coveting Teasley's teammate, Trevor Gerland (6-0, 190, WR), who has similar breakaway speed for Cinco Ranch."

awesome huge on the commit...
I do not know what we are doing on the recruiting trail, but these guys are recruiting lights out considering our record last season...

Way to go GUY!!

This kid will likely put on more weight but I'd be surprised to see him over 200 pounds...
If he is as fast as they are saying- throw out those Baton Rouge numbers...

I am sooo pumped- Its been forever since we've signed a top flight tailback or anybody for that matter...

Welcome to Baylor Queito...

He had a 4.42 40 at the UT camp which was the fastest time at his session.

Seems like it wasn't more'n a week or two ago - someone said we should slow down on selecting recruits. The idea being that it was early in the recruiting process and if we weren't carefull we'd be 'full-up' and miss some good ones coming along later.

Thought I'd throw that out!!

I thing our coaching staff is doing OK!!

Pendle, what I said was that we should slow down and only accept commitments from top 100 type kids.

Teasley qualifies as such.

So how do you know who top 100 kids are...until the rating service tells you? And, then they change the ratings as recruits commit.

As for me i don't care what rating services think, i'll go with our coaching staff. Their job is on the line.

1845,

True that but it does give us juice in more living rooms with other kids to have a kid highly ranked. In the end you have to trust the coaching staff but I don't mind getting a little love by having one of our commits get a good ranking regardless of where the ranking comes from.
