Good evening everyone, I helped to cover the Rivals Speed & Skill Challenge in Houston today and wanted to share some notes from the event.

We plan on having a full report with much more detail on 2016 prospects and several underclassmen, pictures and some video interviews early this week.

Clearly the big news of the day came from Marrero (Louisiana) John Ehret linebacker Michael Divinity. The Rivals 100 prospect is visiting Texas A&M this evening, camping with Rivals again in Dallas tomorrow morning and then driving over to Waco for a visit to Baylor.

Divinity is a very talented linebacker and won the linebacker MVP on the day. He also received an invite to the Rivals 5-star Challenge in Baltimore today.

There were a few other standout linebackers in attendance with ties to Baylor today...

Manvel (Texas) linebacker Jordan Carmouche had a very good day and mentioned that he plans to visit Baylor yet again sometime this summer. We will have a video interview with Carmouche available sometime early this week.

Aldine (Texas) Davis linebacker Jeffrey McCulloch also had a good day at the camp and very much looks the part of an outside rush backer. He might even grow into more of a defensive end at the next level, but either way he has elite size at the linebacker position and plays with great aggression.

There were a handful of players with interest from the Baylor coaches and each player spoke highly of the program in Waco...

Houston (Texas) North Shore linebacker Donnell Dunn and Orange (Texas) West Orange-Stark linebacker Quintraven "Tray" Baldwin are all players who have visited Waco and remain in weekly contact with the Baylor coaching staff.

Each player had a good day at the camp. Long actually plays quarterback for North Shore and participated at quarterback today by choice, but he has a great frame and could easily move over to linebacker in my opinion. I'm a big fan of Baldwin and feel that his recruitment could skyrocket at any moment. He has the size and athleticism to make a lot of plays at the linebacker position in the Big12 conference. Dunn has good days and bad days, but he is shifty and has some speed to beat his man deep. He had a very productive junior season with over 1,000 yards receiving and already holds five early offers, including offers from Big12 opponents Texas Tech and Kansas.

Port Arthur (Texas) Memorial running back and Baylor commitment Kameron Martin did his thing today and showed off his elite speed. With Martin, I have been impressed at how his frame has matured over the past year and can say that he has added legitimate size. He lost out on the running back MVP on the day, but was one of the more impressive prospects on the field.

Several analysts from other schools continued to ask Martin about his commitment to Baylor and other schools showing interest, but Martin seemed to take the inquiries in stride and reiterated his commitment to the Bears multiple times.

Waco (Texas) La Vega corner Parrish Cobb was another prospect that very much stood out on the day. Cobb took home the defensive backs MVP award on the day and showed excellent coverage skills against several very good receivers on hand. He holds several offers and has plenty of schools showing interest, but we discussed Baylor and he mentioned that the coaches speak with him on a weekly basis. The Baylor coaches want to keep Waco kids in Waco and Cobb mentioned that was a big deal to them. We will have a video interview posted with Cobb early this week.

I wanted to keep this quick update specific to 2016 prospects, but there were several underclassmen on hand and I will try to put more notes together sometime tomorrow evening or Monday with more detail.

We are already in Dallas to cover the camp at Cedar Hill tomorrow morning and will have more coverage on many more prospects tomorrow.
