Briles said the team was progressing well. They've been playing football eighteen of the last 24 months, including bowl games, so retention is not a problem.
He also said they'd won enough games that the older players were starting to take on the role of holding younger players accountable.
Asked about competition at wide receiver, Briles stated that it was going to be tough, as it is every year, and that to be play for Baylor, he wanted them to not just be the best on the team or in the Big 12, but the best in America. He said it's the goal with every position, but that there are a few positions where they think they're close, now.
LaQuan McGowan looks like he's dropped some weight, and was shagging some passes. Got my first look at Jarrett Stidham throwing a few. Hard to tell anything from warm up throws, but he looks like a quarterback.
