We'll be running these for the next couple of days. Bryson Jackson got to speak because of his 90+ yard interception return, plus he had a solid day.
I was pretty close to the interception, but had a bad angle. Here's what I got. He really planted Seth Jones, but was going for the ball.
He said he thought at this time, this team is a little better than they were at the same point last year, but they're two different teams.

(INT TD) It was a boot. I dropped to the hash and the receiver coming to the back side. When he came to flat, I picked him up. He tried to look before catching the ball. I saw it and grabbed it and did the best I could to get some yards and make a play.
(Defense today) I think we did good today. I think Green had a great day today. Gold also had a great day. Had a lot of reps. I thought guys executed well. We have a lot of young guys. The big thing coming into spring was getting guys on the same page. I felt like today that was a big piece. Even though it was hot, we executed the best we could. It's a great start for us going into the summer. We're basically going to reinstall everything again. And I feel like that will benefit us.
(Getting back to where they have been) Really, it's about forging a culture. When it comes down to it...last year was last year's team. This year is this year's team. Because we are young, that's something that's very important. It's really just a process and I feel like we're in a position right now to where we're a little better than last year at this point. But we're going to continue to get better. The maturity piece is going to come in the summer. Today was a position for us to get better. I felt like it was a great opportunity for everything. I feel like we're in a great spot.
(Light coming on) Just being a team player. Seeing guys like Terrel, Pitre and Abram and Tyquan. Those guys have worked extremely hard. For me it's the simple principle of playing hard for the team. Giving up pieces of myself for the benefit of the team. That is what allowed me to make the plays that I made last year. For me, it's just simple. If you do your job,and continue to focus and strive every day, Things will open up for you. I really bought in last year. That's where it's led me to now.
(New guys for leadership) Yes those guys (Terrel, Pitey) have set a standard and I feel like everybody wants to be what they were. Young guys are trying and that's great to see. We're trying to get that unity together to where we trust each other and back each other. I feel like it's going well. It's going real well. As for leadership it's going to take guys like me, guys like Gavin, Dillon (Doyle) imprint that culture that coach Aranda talks about
(Versatility inside/outside) Its just a vision thing. I see so much. Now at this point a lot about defense and a lot about offense. That was in the process in the journey for me since I've been here. Being able to help as much as I can is important. And I feel like with my athletic ability and speed I can be a viable piece if I just buy in and do the simple things better. That is important.
