Each week, the Big 12 coaches meet with the media to discuss the week that was and the week that is to come. The coaches make their comments between either the Big 12 coaches call or their weekly pressers. Baylor coach Art Briles and Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy had their comments posted earlier.

Charlie Strong, Texas: The Longhorns (4-6, 3-4) have a bye – Per the AP, Oklahoma State attorneys have made it official: They want Charlie Strong and quarterback Tyrone Swoopes to give courtroom testimony in a lawsuit to determine who called plays for the Longhorns in 2014.Oklahoma State has filed formal notice that it wants Strong, Swoopes, former Texas athletic director Steve Patterson and a host of other assistant coaches and officials on the witness stand in a $600,000 breach-of-contract lawsuit against Longhorns offensive line coach Joe Wickline.Oklahoma State says Wickline made a lateral move to Texas in 2014 and didn't take a promotion with ''play-calling duties'' as stated in his previous contract. The trial is scheduled for May 2016. Oklahoma State officials last week submitted their formal witness list to the court.

David Beaty, Kansas: The Jayhawks (0-10, 0-7) play host to West Virginia Saturday – Despite the 23-17 loss to TCU, there were some positives. The 23 points were the fewest surrendered by Kansas since it yielded 14 to Iowa State in 2014…freshman QB Ryan Willis has thrown a touchdown pass in six consecutive games…TCU was 1-of-5 in the red zone. That’s the best performance by the Kansas defense in 2015…junior LB Marcquis Roberts had a career-high 12 tackles.

Bob Stoops, Oklahoma: The No. 12 Sooners (9-1, 6-1) play host to TCU Saturday – Stoops is sending the Big 12 the tape of Taion Sells helmet-to-helmet hit on running back Joe Mixon at the end of the third quarter. “I’ll send it into the league whether that’s targeting or not and see what they say,” Stoops said Monday. “It seems like it was and seemed obvious but since they didn’t throw it, maybe it’s not.”…Stoops and Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy are politicking to the College Football Playoff committee. “Style of play, if you're talking about defense, obviously we're one of the top scoring defenses in the country,” Stoops said. “We held Baylor to 250 yards less than what they're averaging … same with Texas Tech, held them to 200 yards less than they're averaging. They're the top two offenses in America. So obviously, we're playing in all parts of the game. Playing well. Statistically, it shows that."

Bill Snyder, Kansas State: The Wildcats (3-6, 0-6) play host to Iowa State Saturday -- While Texas Tech has a poor rushing defense, KSU actually had more passing attempts (41) than rushing attempts (34). But the Wildcats had to climb out of a 28-7 hole. “It’s just who we are,” Snyder said. “We have got to be able to throw the ball and have balance in our offense to be a productive offensive football team,’’ Snyder told reporters. “If we are one-sided and you are a decent football team, than we are in trouble.”…the Wildcats have no margin for error. They have to win their final three against Iowa State, Kansas and West Virginia to become bowl eligible.

Dana Holgorsen, West Virginia: The Mountaineers (5-4, 2-4) play at Kansas Saturday – The Big 12 has five bowl eligible teams in Baylor, TCU, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Texas Tech. West Virginia is right there and needs to win one of its final three to become eligible. "When it's one more, that's when I feel it's appropriate to start talking about it," Holgorsen said. "It was tough in October. There's no doubt about it, we played four really good teams and caught them all four, it seems, like when they were playing at their best," Holgorsen said. "We've got about 20 seniors. We met with those guys, and said we've got a lot to play for."

Kliff Kingsbury, Texas Tech: The Red Raiders (6-5, 3-5) have a bye – Texas Tech averaged 59.7 points a game at home this season. The Red Raiders are scoring half that on the road. "We've played very well at home," coach Kliff Kingsbury said. "We've got to somehow translate that to our road games as well." The Raiders have lost all of their Big 12 road games including Oklahoma and West Virginia. They lost to Baylor at a neutral site, AT&T Stadium in Arlington…the Red Raiders are bowl eligible for the 23rd time in the last 25 seasons.

Paul Rhoads, Iowa State: The Cyclones (2-5, 3-7) play at Kansas State – Saturday’s 35-31 loss to Oklahoma State on senior day meant the Cyclones were officially eliminated from bowl eligibility….Big 12 supervisor of officials Walt Anderson was in contact with the program following a controversial spot on ISU’s second-to-last possession. The Cyclones thought they had a first down but then the spot was changed. On 3rd-and-1 running back Mike Warren was stopped. “You’ve seen it…I don’t have to answer that.’’

Gary Patterson, TCU: The No. 15 Horned Frogs (9-1, 6-1) play Oklahoma Saturday – Patterson said he would know more Tuesday but he called QB Trevone Boykin (ankle) and wide receiver Josh Doctson (wrist) questionable for Saturday in Norman. Regardless, their situation has everybody on edge. “I can already tell the difference in our football team, yesterday in the hour of practice we have on Sunday, them understanding the urgency if either one of those guys don’t play,” Patterson said….if the Horned Frogs are to win the Big 12, they have to sweep their final two games at Oklahoma and Nov. 27 at home against Baylor. They must also have Oklahoma State lose its final two to Baylor and Oklahoma.
