I thought this would be a good place for folks to post their thoughts, observations and/or realizations with 3 games played and the start of the conference schedule this week
Here are some of mine:
1) Our WRs have good hands (not alot of drops) but struggle to get open
2) Our O-line is struggling to adapt to more pass blocking after being able to be road-graders last year with GBo at qb most of the time
3) Shapen is an upgrade at QB but he is going to do what efficient qb's do and that's take care of the ball and that can get frustrating b/c he doesn't take a lot of chances doing that; FWIW, I think Aranda is perfectly OK with this
4) Watching BYU's d-line get absolutely trucked by Oregon gave me a lot of concern but I also spent alot of time convincing myself that BYU is "much better at home" LOL
5) I will be interested to see if the trend of the opposing offenses "taking what the BU defense allows" continues; that seems to be the way coaches want to attack Roberts/Aranda's defense
6) We need to hope Reese is the real deal b/c Qualon and Taye are not going to live up to the job I'm afraid; too much hesitation at the hole by those 2
7) A healthy Sqwirl is a GREAT threat and if we can get Baldwin back soon, that double dose of speed will really keep opposing DCs guessing
