On Kendall Brown's injury: Baylor head coach Scott Drew said he would have to talk to the trainers to determine the extent of the apparent right leg injury freshman forward Kendall Brown suffered in the second half of Baylor's Big 12 quarterfinal loss to Oklahoma. Drew didn't have any other comment after that. When Brown went down, he was able to walk off the court under his own power and immediately left the court to have the leg evaluated. He did return. There should be an update on Sunday when the Bears learn their NCAA tournament selection situation.
On supporting Eukraine: Freshman guard/forward Jeremy Sochan was wearing his hair with the colors of the flag of Eukraine. He also had written signs on his shoes of "No War''. Sochan, who is from Poland, has family members in Poland who have taken in refugees from the nation that is in the war with Russia. Sochan said it was just his way of trying to help and that it's obvious the war was wrong.
On the flat start in both the first and second halves: Drew said he blamed himself for the way he prepared his team and it was reflected on how each half began.
On the No. 1 seed status: Drew said he hopes it won't be impacted but that the seed will depend on what happens with other teams in other tournaments. He hopes the NCAA committee will take in account Baylor's 12 Quad 1 wins, the most in the nation.
On playing a desperate team like Oklahoma: While the Sooners are fighting to get into the NCAA tournament - after this win, they are considered to be First Four Team Out by ESPN's Joe Lunardi - Drew credited the parity in the league and that if you don't bring it, you're going to get beat. He referenced the two previous matchups with the Sooners where they were two possession games with five minutes to play before the Bears were able to pull them out.
