Here’s a look at the building list of those 2023 prospects who have confirmed to SicEmSports they are attending Baylor’s Junior Day on Jan. 30. This will be updated as others confirm. This list will remained pinned until the event concludes. Keep checking back as names will be added.

Baylor is already up to six commitments for the class.

Note: I’m not saying he’s going to commit to Baylor that day. But the Bears appear to be in a pretty good spot with him.

Jakevian Rodgers, Daingerfield WR, 2023 (Baylor Commit)

Tyler Turner, San Antonio Brennan DB, 2023 (Baylor Commit)

Cory Huff, Aldine Nimitz, S, 2023 (Baylor Commit)

Justin DeLeon, Kingsville King, OL, 2023 (Baylor Commit)

Carson Dean, Lewisville Hebron, LB, 2023
Note: Recently placed Baylor in his Top 6

Dawson Pendergrass, Mineola, Ath, 2023

Trey Wilson, Garland Lakeview Centennial, DE, 2023

Derion Gullette, Marlin, LB, 2023

Note I:
With Tulsa defensive tackle transfer Jaxon Player completing his visit to Baylor on Friday, it appears that the Bears are in a good position. He had a Top 5 of Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Arkansas and TCU. But Oklahoma and Oklahoma State are no longer part of the process. Again, Player is expected to announce on Sunday. Once he does, will let you know.

Note II: As you read from Adam Gorney, this appears to be a race between the Baylor and Texas for Katy Mayde Creek 2023 defensive back Tay’Shawn Wilson. There had also been some thought that he was going to commit soon.

However, he told SicEmSports earlier this week that he is planning on delaying his decision until around spring football. He has a good bond developing with Bears’ defensive backs coach Kevin Curtis.

“We talk every day,’’ Wilson said. “I really like coach Curtis a lot. I’ll be down for the junior day to spend some time with him and the rest of the staff.”

Note III: As for Baylor's schedule change with it canceling the Louisiana Tech series, at this point, it doesn't appear to be a major opponent the program is seeking in 2022. However, it should be a home game. Also, the change was enacted because if Houston, Cincinnati, BYU and UCF stay on course to join in 2023, Baylor wanted to add another home game for that season. Baylor would have had to travel to Ruston, LA next year. There are some current talks with schools ongoing.
