Again, I'll post something later tonight on the Big 12 roundup. That's the plan moving forward.

On if he had to address anything with his players about the Sam Ukwuachu situation: “Our guys have been really focused. That the great thing about youth. They are resilient and focused. We didn’t specifically address anything with the team. They’re all aware of what transpired. We’re focused on SMU this week.’’

On playing SMU with the old SWC feel to it: “It’s gigantic. I was thinking about this because 20 years ago this would have been a conference game. It’s kind of neat. I grew up in the SWC and it brings back memories. It adds a little extra to the game. The players know each other and there’s more intensity involved.”

On facing new SMU coach Chad Morris: “I have a lot of respect for Chad because he came up from the same cloth I did. We know they’re going to be tough. New scheme. New team. New era. I don’t like opening on the road against a new scheme, but we’re going to have to get into the game and see what’s happening. The good thing is that we have a really good football team. It’s not like we’re taking a young team into an environment that’s never been involved in.’’

On Seth Russell’s fall camp: “We’re extremely confident. He didn’t do anything to disprove what anyone thinks of him. But he’s got really good people around him and good defensive team. He doesn’t have to drive the car. He just has to sit in the back seat and relax.”

On concerns to begin the season: “You always have concerns. The thing we have to be is a clean football team. The penalties have been bothersome over the years….We have to be cleaner in that area. We to be a little more dominant in the areas where we have a chance…our offensive line and defensive line. We have four back on the offensive line and all four are back on the defensive line.’’
