Briles said on the Big 12 coaches call that it's either a fibula or tibia injury. Briles listed him as questionable. Did not get into specifics on it being a fracture. Chris Johnson appears to be your starter.

Art Briles at his presser: RB Shock Linwood also questionable. Knee and ankle.

Art Briles at his presser: Fibula on Jarrett Stidham. Highly questionable. Chris Johnson starter. Couple of guys for backup. No names yet.

Art Briles at his presser: DTs Byron Bonds & Besu Blackshear probably out. S Orion Stewart questionable.

Art Briles, Baylor
On Jarrett Stidham:
“It doesn’t look real good. I’d list him as questionable.’’

On TCU: “They’re a good football team. They believe in what they do. We know this will take the fewest mistakes. They’re an evenly matched team."

On this being an emotional game against TCU: “Goose egg. It’s just another game on the schedule. It’s a big game because it’s a conference game and it doesn’t matter if it’s in September or December."

On what Chris Johnson learned at WR: “We certainly think it expanded his knowledge. We really noticed that in his thought process. It just helped him overall and the association with teammates and the concepts inside and out.’’

On Chris Johnson and the running game: “We’ll see. You have to be intelligent about that aspect. He’s a very capable and gifted athlete. He has a large frame to go with it. He’s shown to be an outstanding passer.’’

On the three things needed to beat TCU: “Field position, turnovers and momentum. If you win those, you have a real chance to get out of there with a smile on your face.’’

On playing on Friday: “We’ve been in some showcase game through the early of the season [with a short week]. That part, we’re accustomed to. It’s a Friday night game in Fort Worth, and we’ll go play.’’

Gary Patterson, TCU
On QB Trevone Boykin’s (sprained ankle) status:
“He practiced Sunday. He’s not 100 percent. But he’s far better than when we decided not to play him. Hopefully, he gets better every day. He’s doing his best to get back….it was fun to watch him get back.”

On this being an emotional game for Baylor: “It’s the next ball game. We played an emotional game against Oklahoma. What we’re trying to do is give our seniors the best regular season possible by going 10-2 and beating a really good Baylor team.’’

“It’s a big game for both of us. They’re still in the hunt for the conference championship. We’re trying to get to a New Year’s 6 Bowl game. A little of this game has been taken off with so many injuries to both sides. But both teams will really play hard and will have a lot to play for.’’

On what this team learned from the Oklahoma game: “I think our kids found out [post Trevone Boykin] that we’re able to move the ball against a really good football team. We have some young guys [Turpin and Porter] and a young OL….defensively, we kept growing. If we can play well against Baylor…win or lose…and have a really good bowl game and come out stronger, that can slingshot us into 2016.''

On the 2-point try that failed in the last minute: “OU made a great play. We’ve done that a lot of time. When we’re on the road we have to take ballgames. We had them on their heels. They didn’t have a timeout.”

On Baylor QB Chris Johnson: “Obviously, he’s not been playing QB most of the season. I thought he was outstanding and did a great job. A big plyer...a different animal from either Stidham or [Seth] Russell. We have to get ready for all of them.’’

On who gets the start if Boykin can’t play: “Probably Bram Kohlhausen. But we’ll until we see how they practice."

On center Joey Hunt (undisclosed injury): “He’s not going to play.’’
