WR Corey Coleman out and will have hernia surgery early next week.
RB Shock Linwood has had foot surgery.
QB Jarrett Stidham (leg fracture) has been ruled out.
Art Briles from Saturday's presser:
"We're good, anxious, excited, blessed and ready to represent ourselves and Baylor University down in Orlando. Counting [Sunday] morning we'll go six practices this week and then we'll get there and get on a regular schedule."
[Coleman hernia] "Corey's was a deal he did prior to the Oklahoma game, about the seventh or eighth game of the year. He had an MRI and knew there was a little tear in there. But he just quite honestly got shot up on game day to deaden the pain. We've limited him in practice the last month of the season.
We feel like the best thing for him is to go ahead and get the surgery done now. That way he can get on with fulfilling his dream of playing in the NFL.
"Like I ask the players, if I give you one thing, what would you want, and they say a chance. It's a chance for someone else to get in and go. If you walk through the building and you say hello to somebody, they're going to say hi back. There's going to be a smile on his face. We're in good shape.
"Corey is having surgery Monday....4-5 weeks (should be ready for combine)
[On Linwood] "Shock is doing fine. He had surgery last week. He had a fracture in his foot (against Texas) and did it early in the game. It might have been against OSU but we're not sure. He's out of the bowl game.
"We're in good shape. We're in great shape. We really are. It's kind of an inspiring and invigorating time quite honestly. You get into athletics to have an opportunity perform. We look at it as an inspiring opportunity for a lot of people."
[On Chris Johnson] "The fire he was thrown into at OSU was a 10-point lead and he converted a big third down and threw a couple of touchdown passes and really rolled. The next week was pretty inclement weather and an overtime game, and then he plays 14 plays in the last game.
I think his role is still being defined. Preparation prior to the TCU game was a little bit hampered for both sides by the conditions. He feels very comfortable and we feel very comfortable with him right now.
I have a lot of faith and belief in the guys we've got. We've got good people, a good system and a good team and program, so we've got good spirits.
It's not like I'm going to walk out here and be different. If you ask me truthful questions I'm going to give you truthful answers, and that's the way I feel. That's who we are. We're very inspired and we're going to play hard for those guys. They've done a lot for us, so we want to do a lot to help each other. We're going to be a very inspired team full of a bunch of competitors.
[Other news] "Shock, Stidham and Seth [Russell] will all be back for spring ball. Don't know start date yet. Lynx will see some quarterback. Zamora, Platt and quite a few others will see time at receiver. If you've got a hat, hang on to it.
"We want to go through a game without helping the opponent. Our last three or four games we turned the ball over, bottom line. That's been the deciding factor to help determine the outcome of the game.
"The way we are right now we feel we need to be very productive every time we line up on the offensive side of the ball and defensive side of the ball. We have to be a complete football team, that's the way we're approaching the game.
"North Carolina is good. You kick your feet up you're not going to win 11 games. They've worked their tail off and have done a great job. I've played East coast teams. When I was at Houston we played East Carolina. We played Cincinnati, UCF, South Florida. They've got good players and have done a tremendous job. The ACC is a very tough league. North Carolina is a top 10 team in America, enough said.
"I thought we had a very strong showing against a very good Michigan State team. A lot of things didn't go our way late that allowed them to win the football game. I've been in a lot of football games and that's as close to getting a win and not getting one as I've ever been in. We certainly thought we were in good position to win the game.
"We beat UCLA in the Holiday Bowl when they were the champs of the Pac-12 South. We didn't play very well against UCF, and that's my fault because we went in there as a happy football team."
[Is Baylor a hungry football team now?] "There seems to be quite a bit of that going around. Any time you get in bowl games you're playing really quality competition like who we're playing. We're good too.
"We play the game for the love of the game. If you get to play the game you're privileged. I understand it's a privilege to coach. We're going to play because of the love of the game. You fight your tail off for the guys in the locker room, your brand and your university."
