Although I didn't post often, I'm sad to say I'm leaving this site. There is no content worth paying for here. My son is a member of the football team so I get all the information I truly need from him but I was hoping for good fan interaction. Mods don't post content so we don't get that. I wish you all the best. I'll be renewing on 247sports. Maybe I'll see some of you guys there.

Amateur Men's BB postseason Breakdown

I'm not a professional, but here it is anyways.

This team was always going to bow out early or go on a run, depending on the shooting. Unfortunately the shooting, especially free throws, betrayed us against Clemson. We never really could defend very well, so we would always have to outscore someone, which many times we were able to do. But this is the tourney, and that's how it goes.

Good season, good players, but it's time to reload and see what we can do. Here's some thoughts:

  • Yves Missi and Ja'Kobe Walter are likely gone, and they bring a unique dymanic to these teams. Every team recruits these big time young talents, even if they're a little green, but it's hard to win big with them IMO. How many one and dones have we had that took us on a long run? Our elite 8 teams and natty were seemingly built around veterans, experience, and defense. We only had one of those things this year. Look at Kentucky, they're looking to change their philosophy from the big freshmen possibly.
  • Jalen Bridges had a phenomeal season IMO. He was consistent and showed out every chance he got.
  • I assume we're going to hit the portal hard to bring in some experience. Curious to see if Miro Little and Langston Love can be huge players for us next year, especially Love if he can stay healthy.
  • Scott Drew can pretty much do no wrong for me. He put together a good team and just got cold at a bad time.

Mixed Basketball results

Men came back from a 16 point deficit at half to force overtime, and decided that turnovers would be fun. Lost to a #2 ranked UH at home.

Lady Bears were up 10 with 3 minutes left at West Virginia. They, too, thought turnovers would be fun, with 5 straight possessions with coughing it up. They were staring at a 1 point deficit and NOT having the ball with 6 seconds left. They got a steal and 2 clutch free throws to win!

Post your 12-Man All Time Scott Drew Team

This was done with no research:

Starters:
G: Davion Mitchell
G: Jared Butler
F: Taurean Prince
F: Quincy Acy
F: Jonathan Motley

Bench:
G: Tweety Carter
G: Lace Dunn
G: Pierre Jackson
G: Adam Flagler
F: Mark Vital
F: Royce O’Neal
F: Ekpe Udoh

Nostalgia Fan Favorite: Mamadou Diene

The starters can lock down anybody and have guys that can have create with Mitchell, Butler, and Prince. They can switch defensively and have ton of length. Could play zone or man.

The bench is a who’s who of offensive firepower and/or defensive prowess. Can play small or big and can matchup with anybody.

LSU Women's Basketball

The LSU women's basketball team won the national championship last season, defeating Iowa in the national title game.

LSU's women's basketball program is one of the most notable in the country, led by head coach Kim Mulkey and star forward Angel Reese.

But while the LSU Tigers women's basketball program has a ton of fame, they reportedly lost a ton of money last season.

The women's basketball proram reportedly lost nearly $8 million last season.

"Women’s basketball—which won its first National Women’s Championship in 2023—posted a nearly $7.8 million deficit for 2023. The program collected just under $2.5 million in revenues for the year but the team’s expenses were closer to $10.3 million. The program’s costliest line item is for coaches salaries, with the school paying $4.4 million in coaches salaries and bonuses last year―nearly double what the program collected in revenue," Business Report wrote.
