Turned out to be a busy offseason and mid-January with Baylor welcoming 18 new players between the transfer portal and incoming 2023 class. There are eight transfers and 10 January enrollees. Let's take a look at who is wearing what on the Baylor spring 2023 roster.
As for the transfers: Arkansas wide receiver Ketron Jackson (6-2, 195) is wearing No. 11. Mississippi State quarterback Sawyer Robertson (6-4, 210) suits up with No. 13. Miami (FL) defensive back Isaiah Dunson (6-1, 186) also wears No. 13. Oklahoma State running back Dominic Richardson (6-0, 207) is No. 21.
Liberty linebacker Mike Smith (6-1, 225) puts on the jersey No. 40. Then we move to the new offensive linemen, the Barrington brothers from BYU. Younger Campbell (6-6, 295) is No. 53. Older brother Clark (6-6, 305) is No. 56. Finally, North Texas tight end Jake Roberts (6-4, 244) is No. 86.
Transitioning over to the 2023s, Lewisville defensive back Caden Jenkins (6-3, 165) is No. 14. Baton Rouge (LA) Southern Lab defensive back Carl Williams IV (6-0, 173) is No. 15. Two-time state champion running back Bryson Washington (6-0, 205) wears No. 30 for the Bears. Houston Stratford tight end Hawkins Polley (6-4, 256) will wear No. 45. Another tight end will be in the 40s. Scottsdale (AZ) Horizon's Matthew Klopfenstein (6-5, 226) is No. 48.
Then we turn to the offensive linemen. Argyle's Wes Tucker (6-5, 268) is No. 57. Pflugerville Weiss wide receiver Micah Gifford (6-3, 196) wears No. 88. Garland Lakeview Centennial defensive end Trey Wilson (6-3, 250) is No. 91.
Baylor place-kickers wearing 90s continues. New PK Palmer Williams (6-1, 179) from Davie, North Carolina wears No. 94. Finally, Hutchinson (KS) College DT transfer Jerrell Boykins (6-3, 341), a candidate to be the new nose tackle, wears No. 98.
Baylor's spring season will culminate on April 22 with the Green and Gold game at McLane Stadium.
