Sixteenth-year head coach Kim Mulkey’s Lady Bear squad forced 31 turnovers and recorded 20 steals in Monday’s 97-42 Preseason WNIT quarterfinal victory over Southern Miss.
All-American junior forward Nina Davis and junior guard Alexis Jones lead the Lady Bears on the season with 14.5 and 12.5 points per game, respectively. A pair of freshmen posts, Kalani Brown and Beatrice Mompremier, are the team’s top rebounders at 6.5 per game each, while senior point guard Niya Johnson follows closely with 6.0 boards a contest.
Nineteenth-ranked South Florida downed Drexel, 73-58, to advance to the Preseason WNIT semifinals.
