Baylor senior wide receiver Jay Lee earned one of 110 roster spots at the 2016 Reese’s Senior Bowl, the bowl announced Tuesday. The game will take place on Jan. 30, 2016 in Mobile, Ala., at 1:30 p.m. CT at Ladd-Peebles Stadium on the NFL Network.
Lee is the 56th Baylor player to accept the game’s invite since the event started in 1950 and extends the Bears’ streak to eight straight years with having at least one player accept an invite. Lee is the 15thBear to go to the game since 2007.
Through nine games in 2015, Lee has 29 catches for 627 yards and a career-best seven touchdowns. He currently ranks seventh in FBS in yards per reception (21.6, second in Big 12), 27thin receiving touchdowns (fourth in Big 12) and 53rdreceiving yards per game (69.7, eighth in Big 12). In his 41-game career at BU, he has 92 catches for 1,569 yards and 14 touchdowns while averaging 17.1 yards per catch. The fifth-year senior is one of 16 all-time Baylor players to have over 1,500 career receiving yards. His 14 career touchdown catches rank tied for 10th all-time in program history.
