Baylor University Suspends Two Assistant Football Coaches For Lamar Game
Waco, Texas – Baylor University head football coach Art Briles has suspended offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Kendal Briles and wide receivers coach Tate Wallis for tomorrow’s game against Lamar University for an NCAA violation related to evaluations of prospective student-athletes during the spring 2015 recruiting period. Neither coach is permitted to be an active participant of the Bears’ coaching staff against Lamar on game-day and will not be at McLane Stadium for the contest.
“We want to stay within the NCAA’s guidelines and are taking this action in accordance with the NCAA’s new penalty structure,” Briles said. “Kendal and Tate have cooperated fully throughout this process and we look forward to having them resume their coaching duties next week. We will continue to work closely with our compliance staff to ensure that future violations are avoided.”
