>TE Tre'Von Armstead was apparently suspended for the Lamar game. Briles didn't use the word suspended. However, Briles said that Armstead didn't play for what was called a team violation.
>Briles said they believe are through all of the due diligence regarding the suspensions to OC Kendal Briles and WR coach Tate Wallis and believes the two should be back Sept. 26 for Rice.
>LB Taylor Young (sprained AC joint) should be back for Rice. He was suited up to play against Lamar.
>Also, DC Phil Bennett said sophomore Chance Waz is batting Terrell Burt for a starting safety position and RB Devin Chafin is sitting out of practice because of his hamstring issue.
>There were also several NFL scouts at practice checking out some of the players.
