Just released. Since SMU is the home team and ESPN has the contract with the AAC, they can control that.
WACO, Texas - Baylor's 2015 season-opening football game at SMU has been moved to Friday, Sept. 4, to accommodate a national telecast on an ESPN network, the American Athletic Conference announced Thursday. Kickoff time and specific network will be announced at a later date.
The game against the Mustangs is one of five road games the Bears will play in 2015. Baylor will host six games, including Homecoming on Oct. 24, in its beautiful state-of-the-art McLane Stadium located on the Brazos River. A 12th regular-season game, the annual Shootout vs. Texas Tech (Baylor is the designated home team in 2015), will again be played at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Dates for games are subject to change for television purposes, and kickoff times will be announced at a later date.
Head coach Art Briles enters his eighth season at Baylor in 2015 with a roster made up of 17 returning starters and 56 returning lettermen from last year's Big 12 co-championship team that finished the 2014 season ranked seventh nationally, the highest final rank in school history, and played in a New Year's Six bowl (Cotton), its school-record fifth straight bowl appearance.
The Bears are conducting spring drills Feb. 24 through April 2. Baylor's Pro Timing Day is scheduled for March 18.
