Baylor baseball's Sean Spicer was named Big 12 Co-Pitcher of the Week, the league announced Monday. The honor is Spicer's first weekly award of his career as he was key in the Bears (3-0) earning a sweep over No. 13 Cal Poly last weekend.

The senior right-handed reliever from Dallas posted a 0.00 ERA and his first two career saves in as many attempts to help Baylor sweep the Mustangs during opening weekend at Baylor Ballpark. Spicer's line for the series: two saves, three innings pitched, zero hits, runs and walks allowed and one strikeout.

Following its weekend sweep of Cal Poly, Baylor also jumped into the college rankings and is ranked No. 21 and No. 27 in two national Top 30 polls.
