Just passing along this factoid when the Japanese surrendered after Hiroshima and Nagasaki were bombed the previous week. I know we've heard the stories that the United States was planning the invasion of Japan and the projected number of casualties would have been devastating. That could have been my dad who was with the squadron that dropped those world changers. My dad wasn't on those missions.
