We always look for the right things to happen for the Bears. The 2017 OL is improving, somewhat, as they get over injuries and learn more of the Rhule coaching. The 2018 line has some returning OL that should blend with a couple of RSs on board. Christian Beard, 6-3, 295,RS, JC, Waco and Trinity Valley and Jake Fruhmergen, 6-5, 295, TR as former starting tackle at Clemson. 2017 Blackmore, 6-5-330, C, Lawrence,6-5, 320, Techlenburg, 295, and R. Miller(295) along with a couple of FR playing OL this year and hopefully, they all return. But reviewing the roster, you find some large, RS, players in the 6-5, 300 lb range that will contribute. Not much experience with the depth in 2018 to look forward. So, will Coach Rule reach out to some big JC's or troll for transfers. Who knows at the point. The Tide usually bring in a couple of JC's every year. But I don't believe Coach Rhule will change his philosophy on JCs except if they fall in his lap like C. Beard. So, the incoming OL will possible be able to RS and improve before placed in battle in the Big XII. And it looks as though the 2018 OL will be coming from run-oriented teams. But for the present, never give up on the Bears, they are improving and will continue to do so.
Sic 'em Bears, do your best, surprise the football world and beat the soonies............and always be positive.......
