Abram Smith, who rushed for a career total 1,647 yards and 13 touchdowns over three seasons at Baylor, has resigned with the DC Defenders of the XFL.
In the 2023 XFL season, Smith was selected in the first round of the XFL by the Defenders. He rushed for 788 yards and 7 touchdowns in the season where DC made it to the Championship game before falling to Arlington.
After the season, the Minnesota Vikings signed him to a preseason contract, but was waived at the end of the preseason. On Thursday, October 19, he resigned with the Defenders to play in the upcoming 2024 spring season for the Defenders.
